Another Day

On Tuesday I went to Wenatchee with Mom and Dad. Dad had a long awaited for Dr. appointment at the clinic with a specialist. The Dr seemed to be quite encouraging, so that was good news.

Then we went down to see Uncle Clyde and Aunt Lana at Auto-Moca. They are very busy, as usual, but always make time to visit when we stop by. We enjoy getting to see them.

Next we headed to Cashmere to see Jessie's place. Mike, Jimmy and Jessie all were there working.

That is Mike, Mom, Dad and Jessie out on his front porch.

This is looking down the driveway to to his house.

He was getting all of his cabinets in, granite counter tops will be coming sometime soon. I love the slate he laid in his foyer, it goes down the hall and is also in his laundry room

The last picture is of the shower with the glass doors up, it looks like the window is in the shower but it is just a reflection on the glass.

Progress in Cashmere

I made a trip to Cashmere to check on the boys progress on Jessie's house. Wow! It is really coming along nicely! The snow is melting and the mud isn't as bad as it was. After the sheet rock was hung, Jessie hired someone to tape and texture it for him. The guy stayed there and worked steady untill it was done(it was the same person that did Mom and Dad's house). He did a nice job. Then Jessie and Jimmy painted the whole inside. They did it all with the spray gun and it turned out great. Now they are installing the oak hardwood floors.

Mike was working on tiling the master bath shower while I was there, so I helped some with that. I think it turned out really nice...of course it will look even better when it is finished! Next he will install the 18x18 travertine tiles in the master bath
Jessie got started on his front porch too.

A Long..Long.. Long Winter...

I am really tired of winter..snow...cold ...and slush. The days are finally getting a bit longer and the sun gets us above freezing once in a while. The wiring and plumbing are done on our house..Mike and Jimmy will start insulating next Monday. Jessie has all of his sheetrock up and it is being taped and sanded this week. I don't have any pictures to post of his yet, but I will try to get some soon. Here is our house with doors and windows. The small round window is in our Master Bedroom in the vaulted ceiling. It is actually 24" in diameter. This is our livingroom while standing in the dining area.

The 1st picture is of the kitchen area, the next 2 are of the masterbath.

Here are few sweet pictures of Dixie & co. Dixie is the shaggiest little thing and her color is ....well... unusual.

BRRR!!

It has been soo cold here lately! About -7 degrees F. It is warming up into the teens and twenties now though. Mike has been working on the plumbing and wiring on our house, not an easy task with six layers of clothes on and freezing temps.
This is an icicle on our house.

Jessie and Jimmy have been down in Cashmere working on Jessie's house. They have got the siding all on, have it plumbed and wired, insulated and are putting up the sheet rock now. It must be miserable staying in those cold RVs.
We did have a wonderful Christmas. The kids were all home, Ryan's mom came down for the Holiday and Mom and Dad were up for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
What a Great Family!!

The Roof is Up!

We have had all kinds of weather this past couple of weeks...it has snowed (about 8 inches), rained, got warm, was freezing cold and windy..not breezy WINDY!! But despite it all the roof is up and pretty much done. A big load off Mike, because now it can snow, rain or blow and he can be inside working without a leaky roof. The doors and windows aren't in yet...but they should be here next week and get put in.

These are our trusses being set up. The last picture is in the vaulted livingroom.

The pictures look like it is so nice and sunny out, but believe me...it was COLD and WINDY!! Very nasty weather to be working in. Jessie and Patrick D are working on the garage. Mike and Jimmy are working on the ridge cap of the house. BRR!!

We put on the very same shingles that Jessie did on his house.

Next week Mike, Jessie and Jimmy are going back down to Cashmere to work on Jessie's house. Jessie and Jimmy will be siding it (weather permitting) and Mike will be plumbing it. This is a hard working crew!!

6 Days

I am amazed at how much work got done in just 6 days!! The floors, exterior walls, and interior walls are up, as well as one wall on the garage.

As you can tell, the weather has been quite blustery. The first couple of pictures show the walls laying on the floor where they were built and the next one is of them raising the 1st wall. I took it from my front porch on telephoto..I was getting ready to go to work so didn't have time to go take pictures.

The last two pictures are with the walls up. The 1st one is the front of the house, the next--the back.

Tomorrow the trusses for the roof will be here. Then it will really look like a house!
