The Chihuahua Stork has Come!

Lucy our little chihuahua had her puppies yesterday....5 sweet little bundles of joy!
Lucy is a very good mother and doesn't want the puppies out of her sight. I don't know how they all fit inside her! She isn't very big. She had 2 girls and 3 boys.
What a handful! They are all so healthy and Lucy had no problems at all having them. I read so much stuff on the Internet about all the problems chihuahuas have giving birth that I was kind of nervous about the whole thing, but Lucy was fine and needed no help from anyone.
Pepi, the proud Papa!
How much fun is this going to be!! I've never had puppies before. I am planing on selling them since both parents are registered...but it will be hard.

A Quick Look at the Garden

The recent rain and hot weather have really made my garden grow by leaps and bounds... the corn is over 6' tall and the tomatoes are about 4'. I have only got 1 tomato, but lots are set on.

I have pom pom dahlias starting to bloom in the front.

My bee balm is just starting to bloom. I have never had bee balm before so I am anxious to see how it will look in bloom. I bet my hummingbirds are going to love it!

Corn..Cows...and Turkeys

Big Boy and Cherry waiting to be fed. They have lots of grass in their pasture but they like getting hay too.

We planted this corn patch a few weeks ago, it is doing pretty well. We will be moving back up to the apt above the garage the end of August so the corn, tomatoes and pumpkins will be there for us. That is the apt window overlooking the garden.

These are the renters turkeys..they seem to grow every time I see them! The box sticking out on the back of the chicken house is where the nests are...you just lift the lid to gather the eggs, you don't have to go inside. Mike will be building me another chicken house before too long..he let mine go with the house we sold.

Last week we took a drive up to Conconully and over the back roads home. We went to KFC, then had a picnic at the state park. I remember Mom and Dad used to camp there sometimes with the grand kids. The kids always had a great time! If I ever have grand kids I think I will bring them here too, they have a really cool play area for kids.

Poor Little Lucy!

Lucy is looking so tired, she still has about 10 days to go before she has her puppies. It will be so exciting!
It will be a busy few weeks coming up. Lucy will have her pups...we go to Nova Scotia....we move when we get home. Oh yeah and Mike bales and picks up the second cutting of hay and does the field of oat hay too (before we go to N. S.).

Our garden is doing great! It is growing like crazy, as is the lawn. It has been so hot here the last few days, in the 100's. Summer is finally here! It is supposed to continue to be hot (80's -90's) next week too. Good hay weather.

We planted some corn, pumpkins and tomatoes up at our other house, it is doing well too, although it was planted probably a month later than this garden so things are much smaller. We planted green beans too, but not a one came up...very odd. Beans are usually the easiest thing to grow.

Tomorrow I am taking Dad and Mom to Wenatchee to the eye doctor. Dad has to have laser surgery on one of his eyes to get rid of some "mist" in his vision. I will go up and check on things at Jessie's while we are there. Mike will have to stay home and do hay.

The Tickets are Bought!

I have purchased the tickets for our visit to our daughter and son-in-laws home in Kingston, Nova Scotia. We will be going in August...what fun! Mike was sick half the time the last time he went and he didn't go last year with me so hopefully he will stay healthy and have a good trip. I am so excited to see their home and pups

Garden

The garden is growing pretty well, Mike got a little rototiller and has been keeping it cultivated and free of weeds....Nice! No, I still don't have my scarecrow made...that is Mike by the garden.

The lawn is really doing good too...Mike has put so much fertilizer on it that is has to be mowed every 2 days, it is a good thing he enjoys mowing.

We got the star put up over the garage this week, I like how it looks!

We just got back from delivering a ton of hay. The guy had a beautiful paint stud that consistently throws paints or buckskins. Hmmm...he said we could probably make a hay trade for stud fee. I am seriously thinking this idea over!

Happy 4th of July!

I love how these geraniums add a pop of color to my front porch. Perfect for the 4th of July (or any summer day). I potted them in an old enamelware pot and have them sitting on a vintage tablecloth. I hope everyone has a great holiday weekend!
