Sophie and Rocket

My little girls are finally getting big enough to enjoy Rocket. I have been waiting a long time for this and it will only get better. I want to share my love of horses with them.  Rocket is 28 now... we got her when she was 8. She has always been the go to horse that anyone could ride and now my granddaughters are learning about horses with her.

Gum Drop Lane #2

 

On Monday September 9, we broke ground on the new house. Mike did all the excavation work himself...and did a great job.

 

 

The rest of the week he worked on the footings and getting everything square and level.

 

A lot of work for something that is just going to be covered up....but so important because that is what the house will be sitting on.

It has been a busy year so far...we finally got moved into our new home, it is still a work in progress, but it is coming along. We like it a lot!

 

 

I was so glad we got moved in before Ryan, Kelly and Sophie came to visit! No yard yet but Mike and Jimmy had the deck done so we could enjoy it.

Jessie, Becky and Emma came up for a day for a family barbecue, the weather was fantastic...around 80 degrees!!

I was in heaven....both of my little sweeties together. They had fun playing together all afternoon!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Emma got to stay at Grammy's and play with her cousin the next day too.

It was wonderful having both of my granddaughters together for a couple of days!! 

Hopefully we can do it again this summer!

Our Little Sweetie Pie turns one today!! What a joy she is to our lives, she has Grammy and Gramps wrapped around her little finger... and she doesn't even know it...yet! We love you Emma Jean!!

Gum Drop Lane Update

It's been awhile....but here is an update on the Gum Drop Lane house

 

 

 By early November the electric, plumbing and insulation were done so it was time to move outside to finish the house. The drywall guy came and  was working on the inside.

 We had to put up the fascia board, soffits, trim and siding. We had some nice weather, but for the most part it was COLD. We wore several layers of clothes and coveralls and had a nice bonfire going most of the time....not that we had alot of time to stand by it to get warm.
 

 

 

 

We finally got the siding all up and the drywall was finished too.

Mike and I spent a couple of days painting....first priming everything..then painting. It sure goes fast with the paint sprayer. There is going to be a lot of touch up painting to be done when we get all done inside. Next we put up the pine boards in the Great Room and Master Bedroom ceilings, then started installing the hardwood floors.
