Happy Easter!!

I almost didn't dye any Easter eggs this year, since my sweet little hens only lay brown eggs I didn't think they would turn out okay. I gave it a try though and they turned out great! I love the deep colors..the light brown eggs are the natural color. I used the old fashioned method of food coloring, vinegar and hot water.

Easter Breakfast was homemade wheat cinnamon rolls I made yesterday afternoon. I also made some rolls for Easter dinner. I used my KitchenAid mixer with dough hook. My first time at making bread with it...so easy!

Mom, Dad and MJ joined us for Easter Dinner. We had ham, potato salad, asparagus and rolls.

Angelfood cake with strawberries and whip cream as well as an apple pie finished off our meal.
I hope you each had Happy and Blessed Easter!

We have Moved!
We moved down to our new house this weekend. Jessie and Jimmy were here to help so we got all of the big stuff moved. And most important(for DH)....the TVs up and running. We are planning on renting our other house out starting the 1st of April. So things are kind of in a jumble here...I need to get groceries...I need to put things away....I need to clean up the other house...and the list goes on. Oh well, it's all good.
On Friday my new laptop (AKA Ruby Red) crashed....bummer. Jimmy called up Dell and after much conferring a new one is on the way - asap.
It finally feels like spring may be coming...temps were even in the 50's this weekend. I am ready for it.

Happy Sunday!

The weekend started out fine...we had someone come to pick up a load of hay...I got in a nice long walk...then we went to Omak. Then our little truck stopped running at Walmart. If it was going to break down I guess that wasn't too bad of a place, at least we weren't stranded along the roadside somewhere. Jimmy came and picked us up after we finished shopping. So this morning we decided to take the trailer down and pick it up. Nasty weather, but no problems.

I am adding these pink bunny peeps to my wheat grass for a touch of spring. I think they are cute. I think I'll add some Easter eggs too.

Our snow is almost gone..just some left where it had drifted. It is still in the hills though.
Look at snow we got this afternoon!Pretty...but thankfully none stuck.

Mom, Dad and Jimmy came up for dinner this evening. We had Corned Beef w/Cabbage and Potatoes. I am still using potatoes from my garden. We had vanilla pudding for dessert. Yum.

This is one of Max's favorite napping spots. He is done with his meds and has healed up nicely.

Pepi and Lucy...on alert!

I call her Ruby Red!!

I got my new laptop today. I am lucky to have a son that is up on technical stuff and got things running so well for me. He got me a wireless router and got me all set up. DH and I thought it would be nice to have something we could take with us when we travel in the motorhome, at least that is how I justify getting it..besides it was a good deal. I love that it is RED! Maybe now we will do some more traveling...I can hope can't I.

I Thought Spring was Coming!?!

Just when I was sure spring was almost here, we woke up to a day of blowing snow and cold....again. We got about an inch or so of powdery snow and it is blowing like crazy. So much for my walk before work.

Yesterday it was thawing, raining and temps in the 40's, today it is 15 and with the wind chill who knows?! All I know is ... it is cold!
Yesterday when DH was feeding the cats in the barn he saw a gaping hole in Max's side. We had to take him to the vet. He hated riding in the car and he howled like a ghoul the whole way... spooky sounds! The vet cleaned out the wound and gave me meds to give him for a couple of weeks. Max must have got bit in a cat fight and it got infected. Poor Boy...He is a big sweetheart! He is staying in the mudroom for awhile to recoup and keep his sore clean. Kinda a nasty pix!!

A Touch of Spring on a Snowy Day

Yikes! I can't believe it...we woke up to 2 1/2 more inches of snow this morning. I am ready for warmness...grass...flowers...all things spring. I planted some wheat grass a week or so ago, it is my little bit of spring inside. I had been wanting to try it and I'm glad I did!

This one was getting tall again so I trimmed it, it smelled so good like a fresh mown lawn. I took the clipping out to my hens for a treat!

I decided to plant some containers to take to work to give us a bit of spring green. They should sprout in a day or so. Then they will grow like crazy!

Home Show

We went to the Home Show in Wenatchee yesterday. We had never been to it before and it was alot of fun! We went in with Jessie but lost him the within the first 15 minutes.

I thought this was a cool fountain idea...I have been wanting to do something like the blue urn, maybe I will.

The whole pond theme was kinda interesting .... and different.

Next we headed over to Costco. We had been talking about getting a 32" flat screen for the bedroom in the new house and found one at Costco. It should work out great! We went back to Cashmere to rest up before heading out to a Chinese Buffet. It was pretty good but DH and JD had to eat the baby octopus...Yuck!

I like the table that JD got for his dining room, it fits his style! It is a tall counter height table and chair set.

This was his free find.
It was sitting out by the road to give away!! It will look nice with a fresh coat of paint, out on his porch this spring. I wish I could find a freebie like that!

After a lazy morning we came back home. The sun was shining, snow melting (although very slowly) there is hope that spring is coming!
