April's End

This is a picture of the view down the valley from our new lot in Omak. It is only 2 acres, long and narrow, so it will be a big change from what we are used to, it will be fun though. Mike took his riding lawn mower down to mow off the grass...we found a bunch of asparagus too...Bonus! We are looking for just the right house plan so Mike can get started building..

 We went down to Cashmere so Mike could help out with Jessie's shop. We girls decided to go yard saleing on Saturday morning. Emma's first yard sale trip accompanied by her mama and both grandmas. We let the guys continue with their work.

 The next day Jesssie, Becky and Mike finished up setting the posts. In all they set 18 poles in 4 foot holes 2 feet wide. The cement will be poured in the holes next.

 This is the reason I went to Cashmere...Just look at that sweet face!!

Off to the Prairie

Last week we went to visit our sweet little Sophia and her Momma & Daddy. She is walking all over now and getting quicker and quicker! We got to watch her while her Momma was at work, she was perfect. We took her walking in her stroller and she zonked out by the end of the block.

  She is so happy to be walking!! Just look at that face :).

 Mike was helping Kelly build a privacy panel on their deck and a dog run off the side so Sophie would be able to have a nice yard to play in. They moved the steps around, put up a fence and built a couple of gates.

The ramp is for the dogs to use to get off of the deck, and the little fence will keep them off of the yard and Sophie out of their area. It will look really nice when it is finished and the lawn greens up.

Humming Bird Cake and Sweetie Pie

I made a Humming Bird Cake for dinner last night and it was pretty good! I'd been wanting to try it, so since I was having a family dinner I decided to make it.

3 layers of moist yummy cake with cream cheese frosting.....Delicious!

This little Sweetie Pie was up for a visit with her Momma and Daddy.

So sweet in her little Easter Dress..

She is not real happy about trying on the poncho I made her...she can't get to her hands!

But she is sure cute in it and it fits pretty good and will for quite awhile...I hope she will start to like wearing it.

Out and About

Yesterday Dad and I took a little trip to Wenatchee for an appointment with his neurologist. We had to be there by 9am, so it was an early day for both of us. It had been over a year and a half since he had been to the Dr and since he was noticing increasing symptoms of his Parkinson's we decided it was time. His meds were increased so hopefully he will notice a positive difference. Other than that things were fine. The Dr said that being 84 and having Parkinson's he would expect him being tired but for the most part everything was fine. Dad would rather have a miracle pill to give him energy and enthusiasm...but such is life.

While we were in town I picked up the new vanity for the bathroom. Then we went to Cashmere to see my little cutie patoutie, Emma Jean. (and pick up the new shower doors Mike had left there).

We had lunch at Studebaker's, a 50's style diner in Cashmere, before heading home.

It was a pretty good day all in all!

Las Vegas!!

We took the motor home for a trip to Las Vegas last week. We blew a back tire out on the way, but after that was fixed everything went pretty smooth. We stayed at the RV park behind Circus Circus and the weather was great! High 70's low 80's.

This is the K-9 dog park at the Circus Circus KOA. Pepi and Lucy weren't sure what to think of it. They could be off their leads and were fenced in so they could run around and play. They ran through the yellow tube a couple of times with coaxing.

We bought 24 hr bus tickets so we could explore the Strip. This is the Excalibur at night. Everything was so pretty at night with all the lights.

We went to the dinner show Tournament of Kings at the Excalibur...front row seats...a fun show, couldn't take pix of course.

A windy day on top of the Stratosphere...the rides up here were really crazy thrillers...we watched. Our RV park and bounder are down there kind of in the middle of the picture, just a bit below the bright red roof of Circus Circus's adventure dome.

Inside the Venetian Hotel & Casino. We walked through a few different Casinos, went to the Bodies Exhibition, played a few slots and went downtown to Fremont Street. We drove down to Hoover Dam, then went up and walked out on the new bridge. That was impressive!

Mike finally gets his In-N-Out burgers...a Double Double, a Cheeseburger, side of fries and a Chocolate shake....good stuff!!

This is where Pepi & Lucy like to ride...on the dashboard of the Bounder. Another fun trip in the warm sunshine!
